Zhu Gongshan emphasized that lithium materials are the "new oil and gas" of the future, and one of the important ways to achieve the "dual carbon" goal is the electrification replacement of transportation. The core of transportation electrification replacement is to use lithium to replace oil and gas.

Since the beginning of this year, although the price of lithium has declined and the market has gradually reviewed rationality, from the perspective of resource endowment, China's lithium resources are relatively scarce, high-quality lithium resources are scarce, and the development technology and progress of lithium resources do not match the growth rate of demand. The supply and demand relationship between lithium materials and electric vehicles, wind and solar energy storage, communication energy storage, and household energy storage will still be in an unbalanced state for a certain period of time, "said Zhu Gongshan.

In terms of power batteries, whether it is mainstream lithium iron phosphate, lithium ternary, or other technological routes, it is a balance between battery cell costs, safety requirements, and energy density that ultimately cannot be separated from lithium materials. "Zhu Gongshan said that energy storage batteries are also an important part of driving the growth of lithium resource demand. In addition to the power system, there is a strong demand for lithium batteries in fields such as telecommunications base stations, overseas user energy storage, and data centers.
